What actually matters in this niche
Value a used LEGO set by its set number, verified completeness and condition. Count parts and minifigures before buying or treat the find as unverified; an original box alone does not make it a complete set.

How do you check whether a LEGO set is complete?
Find the correct building instructions using the set number. LEGO points to element IDs in the parts list at the back of the instructions to identify individual pieces. Match quantity and colour, checking minifigures, printed pieces and stickers separately; record missing or substituted items.
A built model and a matching total weight do not replace this check. If there is no time to count, describe completeness as unverified. Research missing pieces, including shipping and availability, before assuming the revenue of a complete set.
Hypothetical example: buying limit with missing pieces
Assumptions only, not market prices or current fee rates: EUR 70 total revenue including buyer-paid postage, EUR 8 selling costs, EUR 7 postage and packaging, EUR 10 replacement pieces including their shipping and EUR 15 desired remainder. The buying limit is 70 - 8 - 7 - 10 - 15 = EUR 30.
If replacement pieces instead cost EUR 20, the limit falls to EUR 20. If a missing figure cannot be sourced, recalculate for an incomplete sale. The EUR 15 is not guaranteed profit; labour, taxes and overheads have not been assessed in this example.
