Example: A winter coat with clear measurements can be listed for shipping on Vinted. For a wardrobe buyers need to measure and collect, a local Kleinanzeigen listing is more practical. This is decision guidance, not a promise of a faster sale.

Vinted or eBay?

Consider Vinted for privately sold clothes and accessories. eBay is an alternative if you want auctions or to list electronics and collectibles. Business sellers need a separate check: eBay fees depend on category, while Vinted Pro is available only in supported countries.

Do not compare asking prices alone: deduct your own shipping, packaging and optional service costs. Buyer protection on a Vinted system purchase increases the buyer’s total price, but is not deducted from seller proceeds.

Vinted: shipping at an assumed €30 price: The buyer pays for the label directly through the platform; you receive no shipping contribution and pay for no label. With €1 of packaging, €30 − €12 − €1 = €17 remains before taxes and labour.
Kleinanzeigen: collection at an assumed €28 price: With no shipping, packaging or travel costs, €28 − €12 = €16 remains before taxes and labour. The lower item price reduces the result by only €1 here. Weigh collection arrangements against packing and dropping off a parcel separately.

Use the same calculation for Vinted or eBay: compare the agreed price minus your own costs. An auction result is unknown beforehand. The buyer’s total including shipping and any buyer protection is a separate figure; check it in the listing or checkout.
