Hermes Germany parcel classes: measure longest plus shortest side

For the regular Hermes domestic consumer classes shown below, add the longest and shortest outside sides of the finished parcel. Do not add all three sides or use weight alone. Delivery mode and label purchase method then affect the price.

This is a Germany-only sizing guide, with the official domestic price list checked on 11 October 2026. Marketplace labels, international products, irregular shapes and pickup services can differ.

Online labels: delivery to the recipient's door

These standard drop-off products have a 25 kg limit in the linked table. Tracking is included; Hermes lists different liability ceilings for Päckchen and Paket. Conditions and permitted contents still matter. This table is not a list of parcel-shop delivery prices.

Hypothetical measurement: 36 × 24 × 14 cm

A packed parcel weighing 3 kg has sides 36, 24 and 14 cm. Longest plus shortest is 36 + 14 = 50 cm: it fits S under the table's size rule. The middle side is not added.

If extra necessary cushioning increases the shortest side to 16 cm, the sum becomes 52 cm. It no longer fits S and moves to M among these classes. The online door-delivery rate rises by EUR 1.20. These are invented parcels, not reports of tested shipments.

Measure again after packing. A printed carton specification may describe the inside, and a bulging or protruding package needs checking against the carrier's conditions. Do not remove necessary protection to stay in a smaller class.

Compare two finished boxes before buying the label

For the same item, try two suitable boxes with sufficient cushioning. These outside dimensions are assumptions, not measured shipments.

Box B has a wider middle side but a smaller class sum. One dimension or the box volume alone does not decide the class. If only A protects the item properly, plan for A. Rotating the same closed box does not change the sum; repacking requires fresh measurements and a weight check.

Keep a short packing record: all three outside dimensions, longest-plus-shortest sum, packed weight, intended delivery mode and selected class. Update it if you add material or change the box. Public consumer classes do not automatically establish the conditions of a marketplace label.

Delivery mode is a separate decision

A parcel delivered to a Hermes shop must be collected by the recipient. Confirm that choice before listing it as the buyer's delivery method. A label bought online and dropped at a shop can still be for door delivery; the drop-off location does not identify the destination type.
